STS have installed the first of 4 scheduled instruments for Yorkshire Water on their waste water treatment plants. Solids from the treatment processes are put into an Anaerobic digestion plant where the material breaks down to produce methane rich gas used to fuel gas engines. The first unit has been commissioned and is running alongside an activated carbon filter supplied by CJC. The unit will take readings from the prefilter and post filter sides to demonstrate the efficiency of the filters removal of Siloxanes and to determine the optimum vessel change time.
The unit was installed, tested and commissioned in a day with live data immediately streaming to the users dedicated web access allowing management of the process from anywhere.
3 further installations will happen in the coming months to aid in Yorkshire Waters programme of protection for their CHP engine fleet reducing downtime and maintenance and improving generation reliability.
